A self-cleaning filter is a type of water filter which utilizes system pressure to clean itself. Mainly has two types: mechanically cleaned filters and tubular backwash filters.

In any system without adequate filtration, pipes can acquire build-up in them that can cause the system to become less efficient. The effects of dirty water in the system can cause excessive scale buildup, clogged equipment, or poor pump performance. All of these can lead to extensive maintenance which causes the system to be shut down and expenses to increase. Self-cleaning water filters help eliminate all of these issues by cleaning themselves routinely based on the parameters you set for the system.
How do self-cleaning filters work?
Like mechanically cleaned filters:
The raw material medium enters the filter through the feed port, from the inside to the outside. The filtered raw material flows to the lower discharge port from the top to the bottom through the filter screen clearance filtration. The impurities larger than the filter screen are intercepted. After the filter screen assembly runs for a certain time, the filter screen clearance is blocked by impurities. When the differential pressure reaches the preset value, the PLC monitors the signal and sends the command. The reduction motor drives the rotary scraper to automatically clean the dirt attached to the filter screen, so as to keep the filter screen filtration function and keep the filter screen clearance unblocked. When the impurities at the filter bottom increase, the impurities at the bottom will be discharged smoothly as long as the slag at the bottom is removed, so as to keep the system pressure normal. The scraper-type self-cleaning filter scraper is reasonably arranged and the scraping angle is optimized. Driven by the reduction motor, the rotating scraper will timely scrape away the impurities in the filtering gap, so as to avoid the trouble of disassembling and cleaning the filter screen and keep the raw materials filtered without obstruction. The scraper system is a self-cleaning filter composed of a fixed plate, PTFE scraper brush type combined cleaning, and spring. The spring pressure compensation is reasonably selected to minimize the wear on the filter screen.
