After the fluid enters the filter cartridge, its impurities are blocked, and the clean fluid flows out of the outlet. When cleaning is necessary, simply remove the temporary strainer and reinstall it after cleaning.

Countercurrent installation.
There are many types of temporary strainers. Most of them are installed countercurrently. Because when there are large impurities, the downstream installation is easy to cause blockage and reduces the flow area.
It is also related to the position where the filter is placed so that the filter is directly facing the direction of the airflow.
